CULTURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

About

Cultural Resource Management is a field encompassing historic architectural and archaeological investigations that are triggered by historic preservation laws, such as the National Historic Preservation Act, and environmental laws, such as the National Environmental Protection Act. Each law comes with its own set of regulatory requirements that is meant to consider a redevelopment project's potential effects on historic properties, the significance of the historic properties and potential mitigations that might offset these effects. Cultural resource studies, entailing research, survey and an analysis of significance and effects, are typically stipulated by state historic preservation offices and may consist of multiple levels of investigation starting with a simple reconnaissance that culminates in an intensive-level study and a mitigation plan. Gregory Dietrich Preservation's experience in navigating a host of regulatory laws on the federal, state and local levels affecting historic properties, coupled with its expertise in completing all phases of cultural resource studies, ensure that each project will meet its compliance objectives on time and on budget.
